10 Pakistani Climate Businesses Seek $51 Million After UK-Backed Investor Roadshow

Ten Pakistani businesses developing climate-friendly solutions are seeking a combined $51 million in investment over the next 12 months, after taking part in a UK-backed investor roadshow in Karachi. The two-day Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) Pakistan Investor Roadshow, held on 27 and 28 October, connected the businesses with investors, banks and development finance institutions, and helped them sharpen their pitches for private funding.
The ten firms work across clean energy, transport, construction, agriculture and waste management, and together hold a three-year investment pipeline worth $120 million. They include solar provider GoSeedIT, biomethane developer Biowaste Energy Ventures, waste recyclers Sahara Recycling and Waste Busters, building-energy firm EcoEdge AI, and electric mobility companies BusCaro and Daewoo Express. The CFA programme, run by DAI on behalf of the UK government, gave the businesses technical and financial advice as well as support on gender equality and social inclusion.
British Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi Alison Blackburne said the UK's climate partnership with Pakistan increasingly focuses on mobilising climate finance and strengthening adaptation and resilience. Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said climate change was not just an environmental issue for Pakistan but an economic and development challenge affecting infrastructure, agriculture, cities and livelihoods. Since 2022 the programme has supported 22 projects and helped mobilise $40 million in climate investment.
