Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Can Be Called to Give Evidence in £750K Fraud Trial, Judge Rules

A High Court judge has ruled that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor can be called to give evidence in a London trial over fraud allegations against a Turkish businessman. The ruling, handed down on Friday by Mr Justice Adam Johnson, means the former Duke of York could be compelled to testify at the Rolls Building in London when the case begins next month.
Businessman Selman Turk is being sued by fellow Turkish national Nebahat Isbilen, who alleges that Turk misled her over a £750,000 payment made to Andrew in 2019. The money was later repaid. Turk denies any dishonesty and asked the court for permission to call Andrew as a witness.
The judge allowed Turk to rely on a witness summary and to seek Andrew's evidence, noting that a witness summons will 'likely' be needed to compel him. He added there is no suggestion of wrongdoing by Andrew, and that the evidence from him would be limited in scope. The trial is expected to run for 11 weeks in London starting in November.
