Anthropic Files for Record-Breaking IPO Under Ticker ANT — Valued Up to $2 Trillion

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude models, has filed the public paperwork for an initial public offering that analysts expect to be one of the biggest ever. The company filed a Form S-1 with US regulators on Monday under the ticker symbol ANT, with reports putting its possible valuation between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion.
The filing reveals breakneck growth. Anthropic said revenue in the first half of the year reached $16.3 billion, up 1,300 percent, while adjusted operating income swung to $1.6 billion from a $1.8 billion loss a year earlier. But the company has yet to turn an annual profit: it booked a loss of nearly $81 billion in the January-to-June period, up from $13 billion in the same months last year. At its last private fundraising round in May, Anthropic was valued at $965 billion.
Founded just five years ago by researchers who left OpenAI over safety concerns, Anthropic is now OpenAI's biggest rival. Its chief executive Dario Amodei has warned sharply about AI risks, and the company has clashed with the Pentagon over military uses of its models, even suing after being blacklisted as a 'supply chain risk'. The IPO could come as soon as November, testing investor appetite for AI at a jittery moment for tech stocks — while OpenAI's own listing plans remain on ice.
