Anthropic Files for Record IPO: Claude Maker Eyes $1.5-2 Trillion Valuation With Ticker ANT

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude chatbot, has filed public paperwork for an initial public offering that analysts expect could be one of the biggest stock market debuts ever. The company filed a Form S-1 registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, October 26, for a listing on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ANT. Reports have said the listing could value Anthropic at between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion.
That would put the five-year-old company in league with SpaceX, which was valued at around $1.8 trillion when it listed in June. Anthropic was launched by a breakaway group of OpenAI researchers led by Dario Amodei, who were concerned that OpenAI was not on a path to develop AI safely. It has since become OpenAI's biggest competitor, with some of the most widely used AI models on the market. Its prospectus struck a strikingly bold tone, arguing that AI abundance will transform every sector of the global economy in ways greater than industrialisation, electricity, semiconductors and the internet.
The filing did not say how many shares Anthropic will offer or at what price, and the registration is not yet effective, so a listing date is not fixed. Reported figures from the filing show explosive growth, with revenue of $16.3 billion in the first half of 2026, up from $4.6 billion for all of 2025, including $11.6 billion in the second quarter alone. The company has also faced controversy, including a conflict with the Pentagon over how its models can be used and questions about Amodei's warnings on AI risks, but investors will now get their first full public look inside one of the world's leading AI labs.
