Apple Rolls Out iOS 27.2: Siri AI Gets Memory and Five New Languages

Apple has rolled out iOS 27.2, the first major update to iOS 27 for most iPhone owners, bringing a smarter Siri AI, new languages and a handful of handy extras. The headline change is memory: Siri can now recall your past conversations, so you can ask about a restaurant it suggested last week or pick up an old chat where you left off. It can also draw on more of your own context, including photos attached in Messages, people invited to your calendar events, voicemails and your Safari history and reading list.

Siri AI now speaks five more languages — French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish — but it is still not available in the European Union on iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, or in mainland China. A new Excluded Apps setting lets you choose which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can read, and you can now select and copy just part of a Siri reply. The Siri AI features need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, while the wider update reaches older models too.

Elsewhere, FaceTime Dual Capture — streaming your front and rear cameras at the same time — now works in group calls, and you can add a third-party sign language interpreter or live captioner to a call. Apple Music gets a new black-and-white icon, Messages can turn a chat into a calendar invite or reminder, and the Apple TV app gains household profiles. To update, open Settings, then General, then Software Update.
