Apple's First Foldable iPhone Duo Packs a 4,883 mAh Battery — and It May Already Be Sold Out

Apple's first foldable phone is about to hit stores, and its official battery size is now confirmed: the iPhone Duo carries a total 4,883 mAh battery, according to an EU energy label published by Apple.

The label confirms the foldable uses two battery cells — one rated at 2,962 mAh and another at 1,921 mAh — placed on either side of the hinge. Because the Duo is eSIM-only with no physical SIM tray, the battery capacity is identical in every country. For comparison, the iPhone 18 Pro has a 4,288 mAh battery while the iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches 5,567 mAh, so the Duo sits right between them.

Apple claims up to 44 hours of video playback on the 5.4-inch outer display and 31 hours on the 7.6-inch folding inner screen, with fast charging reaching 50 percent in about 20 minutes using a 60W adapter.

Demand has been extraordinary. The iPhone Duo, which goes on sale Friday, October 23, in more than 70 countries, has already seen delivery dates slip into 2027. Apple retail staff have reportedly been told to warn customers against walking in on launch day without a pre-order, as no stock is expected for walk-in buyers. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman called Apple's decision to start pre-orders before building enough inventory "a major mistake."
