Football's biggest individual prize is handed out tonight, as the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony takes place at the London Palladium on Monday, October 26. It is the award's 70th edition, and the first time it has been staged in England, a nod to Sir Stanley Matthews, the English winger who won the very first Ballon d'Or in 1956. The red carpet begins at 6pm London time, with the main ceremony starting at 8pm, and the evening will be streamed free on DAZN in the United States, Mexico, Canada and the United Kingdom.

The men's race is led by three familiar names. Harry Kane, Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe head the shortlist after a season judged from August 3, 2025 to July 19, 2026, a window that took in domestic leagues, continental competition and the 2026 World Cup. Kane's case rests on a remarkable scoring return, Yamal's on a starring season for club and country, and Mbappe's on his usual mix of goals and big-game moments. A panel of specialist journalists from the world's top 100 ranked nations cast the final votes.

CBS Sports presenters Kate Scott and Thierry Henry, himself a former Ballon d'Or contender, will host the night. Beyond the men's and women's main prizes, the ceremony also honours the best young players, goalkeepers and coaches in the game. The men's and women's rankings from 30th to 11th are revealed during the afternoon, building the suspense before the winners are finally announced on stage in London.
