The Chicago Bears held off a late New England comeback to win 30-24 at Soldier Field on Thursday Night Football. The Week 7 final keeps Chicago rolling at 5-2, while the Patriots drop to 4-3.

The game was sealed by a boot, not an arm. Kicker Cairo Santos, who had earlier clanked a 53-yard attempt off the right upright, drilled a career-long 58-yard field goal with 1:21 remaining to put Chicago up 30-21. The kick capped a wild 12-play drive that nearly died when Christian Barmore sacked Caleb Williams on third down — but coach Ben Johnson trusted his kicker anyway. The Patriots answered with a 47-yard Andy Borregales field goal with 37 seconds left, but Rome Odunze recovered the onside kick to end it.

Caleb Williams threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns on 22-of-33 passing, with Luther Burden hauling in four catches for 130 yards and a score — all in the first half. D'Andre Swift added a rushing touchdown. For New England, Drake Maye passed for 321 yards and two touchdowns plus a rushing score, while Rhamondre Stevenson's 48-yard catch-and-run touchdown just before halftime kept it close. Chicago outgained the Patriots 405 yards to 380 in front of a Soldier Field crowd that had honored the late Mike Ditka before kickoff. The night also came at a cost: tight end Cole Kmet left with a knee injury.
