Bournemouth 3-0 Aston Villa: Cherries Cruise Into Carabao Cup Quarter-Finals

Bournemouth stormed into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals with a commanding 3-0 win over Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday night. Amine Adli opened the scoring after just seven minutes, finishing off a flowing team move, and the Cherries never looked back against a Villa side that had arrived unbeaten in seven games.
Lewis Cook doubled the lead six minutes into the second half when his low inswinging cross caught Villa goalkeeper Marco Bizot out at the near post, and Alvaro Rodriguez sealed the win in the 69th minute, lashing home after Tyler Adams intercepted a loose pass. It was Bournemouth's fifth win in a row in all competitions and their first appearance in the last eight of this competition since the 2018/19 season.
Villa boss Unai Emery admitted his side could not match Bournemouth's intensity and were not clinical enough with the chances they created, while Cherries manager Marco Rose praised his team's relentless pressing and defending. The quarter-final draw has handed Bournemouth a trip to Liverpool, with the ties to be played in the week starting December 14.
