Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester City all won on a dramatic Champions League night on Tuesday, as the league phase produced 41 goals across nine matches.

Defending champions PSG defeated Barcelona 4-2 at the Parc des Princes. Desire Doue opened the scoring in the 38th minute, and after Xavi Espart and Lamine Yamal twice pulled Barcelona level, late goals from Lucas Hernandez, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz sealed the win. PSG also lost Ousmane Dembele and captain Marquinhos to injuries. Liverpool staged the night's biggest comeback, recovering from two goals down to beat Villarreal 4-3 at Anfield. Goals from Georges Mikautadze and Sergi Cardona stunned the home crowd, but Alexis Mac Allister scored twice either side of a Ronald Araujo equaliser, before Florian Wirtz extended the lead and Tani Oluwaseyi's late strike made it tense.

Manchester City thrashed AEK Athens 5-1 at the Etihad, with Phil Foden scoring a hat-trick and Erling Haaland watching from the bench. Elsewhere Napoli edged Bodo/Glimt 4-3, Roma beat Slovan Bratislava 4-0, PSV won 1-0 at Porto, Stuttgart drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid, Dortmund beat Sabah 2-1 and Fenerbahce drew 2-2 with Slavia Prague. The results leave PSG and Liverpool perfect on nine points, with Stuttgart on seven and City and Barcelona on six.
