Chelsea Women 2-0 Roma: Carpenter and Buchanan Keep Blues Unbeaten in Champions League

Chelsea Women 2-0 Roma Champions League

Chelsea stayed unbeaten in the Women's Champions League on Wednesday night, beating Roma 2-0 at the Cherry Red Records Stadium in the third round of the league phase. Substitute Ellie Carpenter broke the deadlock six minutes after half-time, and Kadeisha Buchanan sealed the win with a late second goal in the 89th minute.

The first half ended goalless despite Chelsea dominating possession and shots, with Roma goalkeeper Rachele Baldi keeping the hosts at bay. Carpenter, introduced at half-time, struck in the 51st minute to finally break Roma's resistance, and Buchanan rose highest late on to head home the second and end any hopes of a comeback.

The win keeps Chelsea's strong European start going, with the Blues still unbeaten in the competition this season. Roma, who have now lost ground in the standings, head home to face Servette next, while Chelsea travel to BK Hacken in their next European fixture. Elsewhere on Wednesday, Bayern Munich drew 2-2 with Real Madrid and Servette thrashed OH Leuven 5-1.
