Commanders Star Terry McLaurin Done for the Season With Torn Knee Tendon

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin is out for the rest of the NFL season after tearing the patellar tendon in his left knee, head coach Dan Quinn confirmed on Tuesday. The star receiver will undergo surgery to repair the injury.
McLaurin hurt the knee in the first quarter of Monday night's 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, a game that dropped Washington to 1-4-1 and last place in the NFC East. He had hauled in a 27-yard catch just before going down. In five games this season, McLaurin recorded 15 receptions for 230 yards and one touchdown — numbers well below his usual pace.
Injuries have now hit him in back-to-back seasons: he missed seven games last year with a quad problem, though he had played every game across the previous four years. McLaurin remains under contract for two more seasons, but Quinn acknowledged his future could be affected by the offseason changes looming in Washington if results don't improve.
