Computacenter Raises Profit Forecast to £425 Million as AI Data Centre Demand Surges

British technology services firm Computacenter raised its annual profit forecast for the fourth time this year on Monday, lifted by surging demand for AI data centre infrastructure. The company now expects adjusted pre-tax profit of at least £425 million for fiscal 2026, well above the £387 million analysts had pencilled in, sending its shares up more than 6% in morning trading. Its committed order backlog hit a record £12.6 billion at the end of September, up from £9.3 billion at the end of June.

The growth is being driven by 'hyperscale and neocloud' customers in North America and the UK, the firm said, as it delivers large-scale data centres and AI-powered cloud computing facilities. Third-quarter trading came in ahead of expectations, with its technology sourcing arm reporting robust revenue growth as clients shift IT budgets towards artificial intelligence projects.

Computacenter, which was promoted to the FTSE 100 index in June, has seen its shares climb 56.7% so far this year. Demand for the components behind AI infrastructure has been driven particularly hard by hyperscalers such as Amazon, Meta and Google, while supply constraints have pushed prices higher at the same time. The update is the latest sign that spending on the physical backbone of the AI boom is still accelerating.
