Denver Nuggets vs New Orleans Pelicans Final Score: Murray

Jamal Murray scored 42 points and Nikola Jokic delivered his 199th regular-season triple-double as the short-handed Denver Nuggets rallied from 23 points down to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 141-135 in overtime on Saturday night at Ball Arena.

New Orleans shot 65.9 percent in the first half, led 73-57 at halftime and still led by 19 heading into the fourth quarter. Denver erased the deficit on three-pointers from Murray and Jokic and a reverse dunk from Aaron Gordon, then tied the game at 126 when Murray made two of three free throws with 16 seconds left after being fouled on a three-point attempt. Jokic finished with 35 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists, scoring eight of his points in overtime, while rookie Trevon Brazile added 17, including a corner three that put Denver up 133-129 with 1:25 left in the extra period.

Trey Murphy III led New Orleans with 26 points, Dejounte Murray had 22, and Zion Williamson and Derik Queen scored 17 each, but the Pelicans dropped to 0-3 under first-year coach Jamahl Mosley. Denver, missing Cam Johnson, Alpha Diallo, Julian Strawther and Spencer Jones through injury, finally got its first win of the season — and a comeback its booing home crowd will not soon forget.
