Internationally, gold is trading around $4,039.20 an ounce, and the local rate follows the world price converted at the dollar-rupee rate, with jewellers adding making charges on top.
Over the past 30 days, 24K gold has traded between Rs421,010 and Rs442,501 per tola and is down about 1.7 percent in a month, though it is still up about 1.3 percent from a year ago. Rates move through the day, so buyers should confirm the live rate with their jeweller before buying — and check the karat stamp and making charges separately on the bill.
