Grizzlies vs Kings Score: Jerome's 31 Keeps Memphis Perfect in 123-112 Win Over Winless Sacramento

Grizzlies vs Kings Score: Jerome

Ty Jerome scored 31 points, making all 14 of his free throws, as the Memphis Grizzlies stayed perfect with a 123-112 road win over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night. Jerome, who opened the season with 45 points and then scored 28 against Golden State, now leads the NBA in scoring at 36.5 points per game, a remarkable run for a player who was limited to 15 games for Memphis last season because of injuries.

Rookie Cameron Boozer added 16 points and 11 rebounds, Cedric Coward had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Jaylen Wells scored 16 for Memphis, who built a 67-59 halftime lead and led by 14 at one stage. Sacramento fought back to tie the game at 106-106 with 5:41 left in the fourth quarter, but Memphis answered with an 11-0 run: a three-point play by Isaiah Stewart, a tip-in by Coward, and six straight points from Jerome, including a stepback three-pointer, to take control for good.

Zach LaVine led Sacramento with 37 points, rookie Darius Acuff Jr. added 22 points and seven assists, and Domantas Sabonis had 15 points and 15 rebounds, but the Kings still fell to 0-3. Memphis improved to 3-0, only the third 3-0 start in franchise history, despite resting star centre Zach Edey for ankle injury management. Memphis play at Utah on Monday night, while Sacramento travel to San Antonio on Tuesday.
