GTA VI Release Date: 24 Days to Launch as Pre-Orders Hit 6.45 Million and $630 Million

Grand Theft Auto VI is now just 24 days from launch, and the numbers show it is already a monster hit before a single copy has officially gone on sale. Market tracker Sensor Tower estimated on October 20 that the game has racked up 6.45 million digital pre-orders worth $630 million, with PlayStation accounting for 4.8 million orders and Xbox for 1.66 million.
The average pre-order spend of $97.67 is telling: most early buyers are picking the $99.99 Ultimate Edition rather than the $79.99 Standard Edition. In the US, the Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99, while UK buyers pay £69.99 and £89.99. Anyone who pre-orders before November 20 also gets the Vintage Vice City Pack bonus, and digital buyers can pre-load the game from November 12 ahead of the November 19 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Set in Leonida, Rockstar's version of Florida, with Vice City as its main city, the game follows criminal couple Jason and Lucia. Rockstar released its launch trailer on October 15, and its radio stations will feature real-world hosts including Bad Bunny and Lana Del Rey. No PC version has been confirmed, and Rockstar warns fans to ignore offers of early copies or leaked downloads, which are usually scams.
