Haris Rauf Fined 20% of Match Fee After Clash in Pakistan's One-Wicket Win Over England

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has been fined 20% of his match fee and handed an official reprimand for breaching the ICC code of conduct during Pakistan's dramatic one-wicket win over England in the ODI tri-series in Lahore. The ICC said Rauf breached article 2.2 of its code, which covers conduct contrary to the spirit of the game, and one demerit point has been added to his record. It was his third offence within 24 months, taking his total to five demerit points.
The incident happened during the 46th over of Pakistan's run chase, with Rauf at the non-striker's end. He appealed for a wide before arguing with England all-rounder Will Jacks, raised his bat and continued the exchange despite warnings from umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, and brushed past the official while walking towards Jacks. The match itself was a thriller: all-rounder Shadab Khan scored an unbeaten 113 and added 89 runs for the last wicket with Rauf to seal Pakistan's place in Saturday's final.
England were also punished after the match, fined 15% of their match fee for being three overs short of the required over rate. With the final against Sri Lanka now looming in Lahore, Pakistan will want Rauf's pace at full throttle, but the fast bowler will know that one more slip could bring a heavier punishment under the ICC's demerit system.
