India vs New Zealand 3rd T20I: Ishan Kishan Ruled Out as India Eye Series Win in Wellington

India will go into Tuesday's third T20I against New Zealand in Wellington with a chance to seal the five-match series — but without wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has ruled Kishan out of the match as he continues to recover from a low-grade right adductor strain picked up during the first game of the series.

India already lead the series 2-0 after winning both opening matches by four wickets, and a win in Wellington would give them an unassailable 3-0 lead with two games still to play. With Kishan unavailable, Sanju Samson is expected to continue behind the stumps, while young batters who stepped in during the second match get another chance to impress.

Kishan's absence is a blow to India's selection plans, but the visitors have momentum firmly on their side. New Zealand, meanwhile, face a must-win game to stay alive in the series. A defeat in Wellington ends their hopes of a comeback, making Tuesday's match the biggest of the tour so far for the hosts.
