iPhone Duo Buyers Report Cracked Screens Just Days After Apple's First Foldable Launch

Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, is facing early durability complaints, with buyers reporting cracked inner screens and display failures within hours of purchase. Photos shared on Reddit and tech forums show cracks running along the central fold, sometimes with bright lines of pixels.
One buyer in Australia said the screen broke about six hours after purchase, after fewer than 20 openings, when something seemed to catch inside the hinge with an audible crack. An Apple Store replaced the device on the spot. Another US customer said T-Mobile told him replacement parts would not be available until January.
A durability test by YouTuber JerryRigEverything also found dust working its way into the hinge so the phone would no longer close fully, and a green line appearing on the inner display during a bend test. Apple has reportedly sent damaged units to its California engineering teams for examination. The Duo, priced at $1,999 in the US and up to Dh13,599 in the UAE, sold out rapidly at launch, with some deliveries pushed into next year.
