Islamabad 'Manhattan-Style' City Announced: Naqvi Unveils Mega Housing Project, Safari Park Upgrade

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced a “Manhattan-style” residential and recreational project for Islamabad, along with a major upgrade of the capital’s Safari Park. He made the announcement on October 23 while speaking at the Saudi Real Estate Expo, where he also invited Saudi investors to put money into Pakistan’s real-estate and entertainment sectors.
The proposed development would be modeled on Manhattan, with residential towers and other facilities built around a central park. Naqvi said the government would introduce a one-window operation so that investment approvals and formalities are completed within days instead of dragging on for weeks or months. Officials have not yet disclosed a timeline or an estimated cost for the project.
Naqvi also announced plans to upgrade Islamabad’s Safari Park, adding more animals and improving recreational facilities. He said Pakistan offers wide opportunities for investors in leisure destinations, and promised that auctions for the projects would involve relevant stakeholders to keep the process transparent.
The minister said he hoped Saudi investors would take part in residential and recreational projects across the country, as the government moves to simplify procedures and attract more foreign capital into Pakistan.
