Jena Bishop Stuns Liz Carmouche to Claim PFL Women's Flyweight Title

Jena Bishop is the new PFL women’s flyweight champion after stunning Liz Carmouche by unanimous decision in Friday’s main event at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. All three judges scored the five-round fight 48-47 for Bishop (12-3), who claimed the promotion’s first women’s flyweight title and avenged a brutal first-round knockout loss to Carmouche from August 2025.

The 40-year-old veteran Carmouche (26-9), a former Bellator champion, nearly ended the fight in the opening round, hurting Bishop with a barrage of punches and hammer fists that had the referee close to stepping in. But Bishop survived and slowly took over with her trademark jiu-jitsu, dragging Carmouche to the canvas in round three, taking her back and locking in a body triangle while working a series of rear-naked choke attempts.

Carmouche survived the minute-long hand fight and came back strong in the fourth, but Bishop’s fifth-round takedown and relentless back control sealed the decision. After the announcement, Bishop faced off with undefeated star Dakota Ditcheva (16-0), who has been medically cleared and is expected to challenge for the title in early 2027.
