Knicks vs Magic Score: Wagner Leads Magic to 111-102 Win as Defending Champions Fall to 0-3

The Orlando Magic stunned the defending champions on their own floor on Sunday, beating the New York Knicks 111-102 at Madison Square Garden. Franz Wagner led the way with 23 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, and Orlando poured in 40 points in the fourth quarter to turn a four-point deficit into a famous road win.
The Magic did it without star forward Paolo Banchero, who is out for several weeks with a high ankle sprain. Desmond Bane added 22 points, Tristan da Silva scored 19 off the bench and Anthony Black chipped in 18, as four Orlando players reached at least 18 points. New York had raced to a 12-0 lead in the first five minutes, but Orlando refused to fold and took control down the stretch.
Jalen Brunson scored 28 for the Knicks, while Karl-Anthony Towns had 22 points and 14 rebounds and OG Anunoby added 22, but the champions could not find a stop when it mattered. The loss leaves New York winless at 0-3 to start the season, while Orlando picks up its first win at 1-2. There was a late scare for the visitors, though, as guard Jalen Suggs hurt his knee in a non-contact fall on a fast break with two minutes left, and the team had no immediate update on how serious it was.
