KSE-100 Rebounds Above 163,000 as PSX Gains 664 Points

The Pakistan Stock Exchange rebounded on Monday, October 26, as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 663.59 points, or 0.41 percent, to close at 163,038.46 points. The session was volatile: the index fell to an intraday low of 161,250.06 under selling pressure before recovering to a high of 163,477.08 and closing above the 163,000 mark.
The rebound offered some relief after five consecutive weeks of losses, though investors remained cautious. Geopolitical tensions, high international oil prices and expectations around the State Bank of Pakistan's monetary policy decision continued to influence sentiment. Among the major contributors, UBL, ENGROH, LUCK, OGDC and MARI added around 718 points to the benchmark combined, while MEBL, EFERT and FFC dragged it down by about 317 points combined.
Trading activity reached around 376 million shares, with a total traded value of about Rs 16.2 billion. The market's total value rose to about Rs 18,061 billion. One strong session does not yet prove a lasting recovery, and investors will be watching the next session closely to see whether the rebound above 163,000 can hold.
