NAB Opens Corruption Inquiries Against Senior PTI Leaders

PTI leader Murad Saeed — NAB has opened corruption inquiries against him and three other senior PTI leaders

The National Accountability Bureau has launched fresh corruption inquiries against four senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders, widening its scrutiny of the party's top ranks. According to 24NewsHD, inquiries have been initiated against Murad Saeed, Ali Amin Gandapur, Azam Swati, and Dr. Amjad Ali on charges ranging from benami properties to assets beyond known sources of income.

The cases span several fronts. Saeed faces questions over benami properties, front men, and business investments — NAB issued him a notice on October 19 asking him to disclose his sources of income and explain a land purchase in Swat in 2020. Gandapur received a call-up notice on September 22 to submit records of his assets and financial matters. Swati was served a notice back in June 2025 over alleged embezzlement of more than Rs30 billion in Upper Kohistan. And on Tuesday, the bureau summoned five people connected to an inquiry against Dr. Amjad Ali over assets allegedly beyond his sources of income.

The inquiries land at a politically charged moment for the PTI, which is already battling legal cases on multiple fronts. NAB's move is expected to sharpen the standoff between the opposition party and the accountability watchdog in the days ahead.
