Apple has opened pre-orders for its all-new OLED iPad mini, with the tablet arriving in stores and reaching customers on Friday, November 6. Pre-orders opened on Wednesday, October 28, at 10:10 a.m. Pacific Time on apple.com and in the Apple Store app in 36 countries and regions. In the United States, pricing starts at $699 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model, or $58.25 per month for 12 months, while the Wi-Fi plus Cellular model starts at $849. The 256GB model costs $799 and the 512GB model $999, and the tablet comes in two colours, Midnight and Starlight.
The headline upgrade is a larger 8.5-inch OLED display with up to 1,200 nits of peak HDR brightness, replacing the previous 8.3-inch LCD screen, with an anti-glare nano-texture option on the 256GB and 512GB models for an extra $100. Inside is the A20 Pro chip built on a 2-nanometre process, offering up to 60 per cent faster CPU performance, 2.7 times faster graphics and 4.5 times faster AI performance than the previous generation.
The new model also brings an Acoustic Display speaker system with no speaker holes, IP67 water and dust resistance, a thinner 5.4mm design, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 through Apple's N1 chip, a C2 modem on cellular models, and a landscape 12MP Center Stage front camera. The $699 starting price is $100 above the previous model's $599 price since June 2026, though education pricing starts at $649 and a matching TechWoven Smart Folio costs $79.
