Nuggets vs Pelicans: Jokic's 200th Triple-Double Powers Denver to 104-91 Win

Nikola Jokic became only the second player in NBA history to record 200 career triple-doubles as the Denver Nuggets held off the host New Orleans Pelicans 104-91 on Wednesday night. The 12-year veteran finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, joining Russell Westbrook, the all-time leader with 209 triple-doubles in 18 seasons. It was Jokic's second triple-double of the season, both against New Orleans, and Christian Braun's back-to-back three-pointers in a critical late stretch helped Denver close the game out.
All five Nuggets starters scored in double figures, led by Jamal Murray's 23 points, while Aaron Gordon added a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Zion Williamson scored a game-high 25 points for the Pelicans, but no other New Orleans player except Derik Queen off the bench managed more than 11. Elsewhere on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Clippers 103-87 despite missing Luka Doncic with back tightness, behind 23 points from Quentin Grimes and 21 from Collin Sexton.
The Dallas Mavericks thumped Oklahoma City 120-96 behind Cooper Flagg's 26 points, denying the Thunder a third straight 5-0 start, and Victor Wembanyama posted 36 points and 14 rebounds as San Antonio edged Utah 117-111 in overtime. Miami earned its first win of the season, 129-117 over Atlanta, as Giannis Antetokounmpo posted 24 points and 18 rebounds and Bam Adebayo became the Heat's all-time rebounding leader.
