Nvidia Unveils DSX Pod: An Entire AI Data Center That Ships on a Truck

Nvidia has announced a new product that packs seven of its powerful Vera Rubin AI racks into a standard shipping container — a containerized AI data center that can be delivered on an ordinary truck.
Called the DSX Pod AI Factory, the pod is about the size of a standard shipping container and weighs roughly 28,000 kilograms (nearly 62,000 pounds), the company said on Wednesday, October 21. All the cabling and liquid-cooling hardware is installed at the factory, so customers simply place the container on site, connect it, and run a final test.
“The only thing that has to happen when it gets to the site is it's placed in its location, connected to the rest of the other containers, and validated through final burning and testing,” said Ian Buck, Nvidia's vice president of hyperscale computing.
Nvidia says the pod can cut the time to get a new AI data center running from about six months to roughly 14 days — a big deal for companies racing to deploy AI compute capacity, including European customers facing deployment delays.
The DSX Pod is a reference design built by Nvidia's manufacturing partners — including Foxconn, Gigabyte, Lenovo, HPE, Quanta and Pegatron — with deliveries expected to start in early 2027. The company did not announce pricing, but analysts estimate a single Vera Rubin rack costs more than $7 million.
The announcement is the latest step in Nvidia's transformation from a chip maker into a provider of complete AI data-center systems — from single GPUs to servers, full racks, and now containerized buildings blocks ready to ship by road.
