Pakistan 6-1 Tonga: Kaleem Ullah Scores Four in Historic First FIFA U-15 World Cup Win

Pakistan have registered their first-ever victory at a FIFA World Cup tournament, thrashing Tonga 6-1 at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Wednesday. Young striker Kaleem Ullah starred with four goals as the Green Shirts ended a five-match winless run in style.

Pakistan fell behind early when Tonga won a penalty in the sixth minute, but Kaleem Ullah answered from the spot a minute later, headed in a cross in the 13th minute, and completed his hat-trick with another penalty in first-half stoppage time. He added a fourth after the break with a far-post header, before Maqbool struck from distance and Mustafa finished a neat move down the left to complete the rout.

The win capped a remarkable turnaround. Pakistan began the tournament with a 4-2 defeat to Gambia, then lost 1-0 to South Sudan and 4-0 to Cyprus, before draws against Jordan and Nigeria gave them their first points. Pakistan Football Federation president Syed Mohsen Gilani, who watched the match in person, praised the squad for becoming the first Pakistani team to win a match on the FIFA World Cup stage. Pakistan next face Nepal on Wednesday evening.
