Pakistan Defend Hong Kong Sixes Title Against India in Opening Match on October 30

Defending champions Pakistan begin their Hong Kong Sixes title defence with a blockbuster clash against India on Friday, October 30, at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok. The six-a-side tournament runs from October 30 to November 1 with 12 teams, and Pakistan, captained by Mohammad Abbas Afridi, departed for Hong Kong on Tuesday.

Pakistan are in Group C alongside India and the UAE. They open against the UAE on Friday morning before facing India, led by Krunal Pandya, later the same day — a fixture that always draws huge attention no matter the format. Pakistan are the most successful team in the tournament's history with six titles, the latest coming in 2025 when they beat Kuwait by 43 runs in the final. England and South Africa have five titles each, while India have won the event once, back in 2005.

The Hong Kong Sixes is cricket at its fastest and most explosive: six players a side, every ball an event, and one big over can flip a match in minutes. For Pakistan, the mission is simple — defend the crown and stretch their record to a seventh title.
