Pakistan Take on England in Rawalpindi as Tri-Series Heats Up Today

Pakistan take on England today at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in the second match of the ODI tri-series, a contest that could go a long way toward deciding who reaches the October 31 final in Lahore.
Pakistan began the series with a 37-run win over Sri Lanka on Sunday, posting 305 before dismissing the visitors for 268. Salman Agha's century — 107 from 90 balls — set up the total, while debutant wicketkeeper-batter Saad Baig chipped in with 39 and two catches. Shaheen Afridi led the pace attack that broke Sri Lanka's middle-order resistance.
England open their campaign without Jos Buttler, who is out with a hamstring injury, and with Jofra Archer rested. Coach Brendon McCullum said his side must adapt quickly to subcontinent conditions. "Pakistan are a very strong side," he said at Rawalpindi. "Playing subcontinent teams in subcontinent conditions has its own challenges."
Captain Harry Brook, who has four Test hundreds in Pakistan, will lean on Joe Root and his own form as England chase a winning start ahead of next year's 50-over World Cup.
