Pakistan vs England Score: Shadab's 113 Not Out Steals One-Wicket Win as Pakistan Reach Tri-Series Final

Shadab Khan of Pakistan (CricketWorld)

Shadab Khan scored an unbeaten 113 as Pakistan pulled off a stunning one-wicket win over England in Lahore on Sunday, chasing down 242 to book their place in the tri-series final on October 31. Pakistan had looked beaten at 154 for nine, still needing 88 runs, before Shadab and last man Haris Rauf put together an unbroken 89-run stand for the final wicket.

The drama peaked when Shadab, on 99, was given out leg-before to Gus Atkinson. He reviewed more in hope than expectation, but UltraEdge showed a faint inside edge and the decision was overturned. He went on to reach his maiden one-day century off 91 balls, finishing with 13 fours and five sixes in 96 balls, and his partnership with Haris set a record for the highest tenth-wicket stand in a successful one-day chase.

England had earlier made 241 all out, built around Ben Duckett's 105 and Sam Curran's 42, after Shaheen Shah Afridi took four wickets and reduced them to 19 for three. Pakistan's chase wobbled badly, with Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub and Babar Azam all falling cheaply, but Shadab refused to give in. Haris, who made just seven not out, hit the winning boundary in the 48th over to seal a famous win and send the Gaddafi Stadium crowd into celebration.
