Pakistan vs England Today: Pakistan Wear Pink in Lahore for Breast Cancer Awareness Day

Pakistan will wear pink kits for Sunday's One-Day International against England at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, after the Pakistan Cricket Board dedicated the match to breast cancer awareness. The fixture is part of the ODI tri-series also featuring Sri Lanka, and Pakistan head into it after beating both rivals earlier in the series.
The whole ground will turn pink for the occasion. Pakistan's players will wear specially designed pink kits, while England's players, the match officials and commentators have been invited to wear pink ribbons in solidarity with patients and survivors. The stumps will carry pink branding, awareness messages will run on the big screens and LED boards around the ground, and commentators will repeat the early-detection message through the live broadcast. The campaign runs with Pink Ribbon as part of Pinktober, the worldwide Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and free mammogram screenings for female fans are scheduled at the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Trust Hospital in Lahore from October 24 to 26.
The board has also announced an auction of specially signed fan shirts, including shirts signed by captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and batter Babar Azam, with the proceeds going toward treatment for women who cannot afford the cost of care. The PCB says the initiative uses cricket's huge audience in Pakistan to push one simple message: early detection and timely treatment save lives.
