Petrol Price in Pakistan Today: Diesel Rises to Rs393.66, Petrol Unchanged at Rs377.71

The federal government has raised the price of high-speed diesel to Rs393.66 per litre while keeping petrol unchanged at Rs377.71 per litre for the next three days, the Petroleum Division announced on Friday. The new diesel rate — up Rs1.91 — takes effect from October 24 and stays frozen through October 26 under the new pricing framework.

Under the framework approved by the federal cabinet, Ogra now publishes ex-depot prices daily based on a rolling seven-day average of international prices, but any prices notified on Friday remain fixed through the weekend. Petrol had been cut by Rs1.60 just a day earlier on October 23, which is why this round's petrol rate is unchanged. Officials cited continued volatility in global markets and changes to the Platts benchmark as the reasons behind the diesel hike.

Pakistanis continue to pay heavy taxes at the pump: around Rs114 per litre in taxes on petrol and roughly Rs100 per litre on diesel. With crude prices climbing past $114 a barrel on fears of a wider Middle East conflict, consumers may face more upward pressure in the coming days.
