Ric Flair Hospitalized After Scary Fall in Tampa Hours After Revealing Blood Clot

WWE legend Ric Flair, 77, was rushed to a hospital in Tampa, Florida, on Friday, October 23, after a fall outside a restaurant that left him cut on the head and eye and bleeding extensively, according to TMZ. The 16-time world champion had walked away from a bar, leaving his phone and drink behind, then fell across the street and was seen being loaded into an ambulance. A possible concussion has not been confirmed.
Hours earlier the same day, Flair had posted on X that he was canceling his Washington State Horror Con appearance in Seattle, scheduled October 23 to 25, because of a blood clot in his leg, with doctors limiting his travel to three or four hours. He said he is scheduled for a procedure to strip the affected vein, and cited Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts' blood clot — which cost him the 2026 NFL season — as why he is following medical advice, noting that blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening.
As of the latest reports, Flair's representatives had not given a detailed update on his condition, and the recovery timeline is unclear. Fans flooded social media with messages of support for the Nature Boy.
