Shehbaz Invites Global Consulting Firms to Power Pakistan Economic Reforms

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited international consulting firms to partner with Pakistan on strengthening economic growth, improving domestic industry performance and attracting foreign direct investment. The invitation came during his meeting in Islamabad on Thursday with Peter Briggs, managing director of North American operations at Alvarez and Marsal.
The prime minister said Pakistan was committed to export-led growth, digitalisation of the economy and greater efficiency in manufacturing. He added that the government was evaluating the economic viability of state-owned enterprises and pursuing privatisation where appropriate, and was open to globally recognised economic experts to support the reform agenda.
The push follows a World Bank assessment that Pakistan per capita income could triple by 2050 if the country accelerates structural reforms to encourage private investment and strengthen institutions. The government says accountability and measurable results will be central to any partnership.
