Shehbaz Opens Islamabad Daanish School, Vows Equal Education for Poor Children

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the Daanish School Islamabad on Sunday, pledging that children from poor families will get an education equal to the country’s most prestigious institutions. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in the capital’s Kuri area, the prime minister said a lack of financial resources remains the biggest obstacle stopping millions of talented Pakistani children from realizing their potential.

The Daanish Schools initiative is designed to give high-quality education to children from economically disadvantaged families, with standards he promised would match — or exceed — those of elite schools. Shehbaz noted that many bright children come from homes where parents work long hours in agricultural fields and factories, often under harsh weather, yet struggle to afford school fees, healthcare and basic necessities.

He announced the network is being expanded nationwide, with 27 new Daanish Schools currently at different stages of construction in various regions. Addressing students, teachers and parents at the ceremony, he said financial hardship should never decide a child’s future, framing the schools as part of a broader vision to cut educational inequality across Pakistan.
