Supermicro Shares Jump 10% After Raising Revenue Forecast by $4 Billion on AI Boom

Super Micro Computer (Supermicro) has delivered a jolt to Wall Street, sharply raising its quarterly revenue forecast as demand for AI servers continues to surge.

The company said on Tuesday that preliminary revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, ended September 30, would land between $18.5 billion and $19.5 billion — up from its earlier guidance of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion and well above the $15.23 billion analysts had expected, according to LSEG. Estimated gross margins also improved to 12.0–12.5 percent, versus the 10.4–10.8 percent previously forecast. Shares jumped more than 10 percent in after-hours trading on the news.

Supermicro builds the server racks that power AI data centres, including liquid-cooled systems for Nvidia's latest chips, and has been one of the clearest beneficiaries of the AI infrastructure buildout. The full results will be unveiled on a conference call on November 3.

The guidance comes weeks after a contractor linked to the company pleaded guilty to helping ship servers loaded with advanced Nvidia chips to China, a case Reuters reported earlier this month. Supermicro says it was not named as a defendant and that the case has not affected its business.
