Texas vs Ole Miss Final Score: Arch Manning's Texas Survives 34-27 After Blowing 21-Point Lead

No. 19 Texas survived a wild Saturday night in Austin, holding on for a 34-27 win over No. 7 Ole Miss after blowing a 21-point lead — a victory that eases the pressure on quarterback Arch Manning and coach Steve Sarkisian after two straight defeats.
Texas raced to a 24-3 halftime lead, with Manning throwing a touchdown pass and running in two scores of his own, his first rushing touchdowns of the season. But Ole Miss stormed back: Trinidad Chambliss threw two touchdown passes to Horatio Fields after a Manning fumble was recovered in the end zone, and the Rebels tied the game at 24. Manning answered with a one-yard keeper for a 31-24 lead, set up by Raleek Brown's 47-yard run — Brown finished with 157 rushing yards.
Ole Miss nearly stole it at the death, recovering an onside kick in the final two minutes, but Jelani McDonald intercepted Chambliss in the end zone on the last play. Manning finished 18 of 30 for 212 yards with a touchdown, two interceptions and a lost fumble, and Texas committed a season-high 14 penalties for 121 yards. The Longhorns improve to 5-2, while Ole Miss fall to 5-2 — and Manning, who had been warned his starting job was under threat, keeps it for another week.
