Thunder vs Clippers Score: Jalen Williams Stretchered Off as Oklahoma City Beats LA 108-101 to Stay Perfect

Oklahoma City's perfect start to the season came at a painful price on Sunday, as All-Star wing Jalen Williams was stretchered off with a serious-looking left leg injury late in the Thunder's 108-101 win over the LA Clippers at the Paycom Center. The win moves the defending Western Conference contenders to 3-0, but the mood in the building was sombre long before the final buzzer.
Williams was hurt with about 1:15 left in the fourth quarter, driving to the basket before landing awkwardly on his left leg after contact from Clippers guard Kris Dunn, who was assessed a flagrant-1 foul after a review. His left foot bent at an unnatural angle as he fell, medical staff quickly covered his lower leg with a towel, and he was wheeled off on a stretcher to a standing ovation, raising two thumbs up to the crowd as he left.
Teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was visibly emotional afterwards. "I just feel bad for him," he said. "It's obviously going to be tough without a player like that. But he's not gone forever. He'll be back better than ever, and we know it. We've just got to hold the fort down until he comes back." The Thunder have given no official diagnosis yet, and one independent sports doctor watching the footage suggested a lower-leg fracture, but that remains unconfirmed. Oklahoma City had already lost Cason Wallace to a shoulder problem and Jaylin Williams to a wrist injury earlier in the same game.
