Wall Street Draws a Line: Banks Are Blocking AI Agents From Touching Your Money

Banks blocking AI agents from handling money

Some of America's biggest financial institutions are slamming the door on artificial intelligence agents. Charles Schwab's CEO revealed the firm blocks large AI agents "in the tens and twenties weekly" — including Meta's Muse — while JPMorgan's Jamie Dimon has warned about rogue agents handling people's money.

The concern is simple but serious: who is responsible when an AI agent with your login credentials makes a mistake? Banks say they will allow read-only access for AI tools, but moving money is off-limits for now.

The pushback goes beyond banking. Amazon has reportedly blocked AI agents since September, Yelp only allows licensed ones, and Delta has no third-party agent deals.
