Washington Wizards vs Chicago Bulls Final Score: Wizards Win 124-120 After Dominant Third Quarter

Trae Young scored 25 points and handed out nine assists as the Washington Wizards beat the Chicago Bulls 124-120 on Saturday, opening a three-game road trip with a win built on a dominant third quarter. Washington outscored Chicago 40-20 after half-time, shooting 65.2 percent in the period to turn a five-point deficit into a lead they never gave back.

Kyshawn George added 22 points and nine rebounds for the Wizards, who led by as many as 21 points down the stretch. Anthony Davis chipped in 19 points, and Justin Champagnie posted an 11-point, 14-rebound double-double. The win also ended a five-game losing streak for Washington against the Bulls.

Chicago refused to go quietly. Bulls rookie Caleb Wilson posted his first career double-double with 30 points and 14 rebounds, and Matas Buzelis capped a 16-4 run with a baseline three that cut the gap to three points with 23.3 seconds left. But Young and Davis combined to go 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the closing seconds to seal the result, leaving the Bulls to rue a third quarter in which they shot just 30.4 percent from the field.
