World Series Game 2 Tonight: Brewers vs Rays — Rasmussen vs Henderson in Milwaukee

World Series Game 2 Tonight: Brewers vs Rays

The Milwaukee Brewers will try to take a commanding 2-0 World Series lead on Saturday night when they host the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 2 at American Family Field. First pitch is at 8 PM Eastern Time on FOX — 5 AM Sunday in Pakistan. Milwaukee won a dramatic Game 1 3-2 on Friday, surviving a ninth-inning scare after a replay review wiped out what had looked like the final out.

The pitching match-up is the story of the night. Tampa Bay sends Drew Rasmussen (16-5, 2.67 ERA) to the mound — the right-hander is 11-0 with a 1.73 ERA since the All-Star break and has allowed no more than two runs in each of his last nine starts. Milwaukee counters with rookie Logan Henderson (11-3, 2.47 ERA), who has won both of his playoff starts and has given up more than two runs only once in his last nine outings.

Both teams are chasing their first-ever championship — Milwaukee's only previous World Series trip was in 1982, while Tampa Bay lost in 2008 and 2020. History favours the home side: teams that win Game 1 of a best-of-seven series have gone on to lift the trophy 128 times in 199 attempts. The series then shifts to Tampa Bay for the middle games.
